Higher deposits, tighter spending rules for UP polls
The Election Commission has increased the security deposits for Union Parishad election candidates, raising the amount to Tk 25,000 for chairman candidates from Tk 5,000 and to Tk 5,000 for member candidates from Tk 1,000.
