Bangladesh's media is politically divided. The Daily Star and Prothom Alo frequently cover the same event with different angles, emphases, and framings. One paper's "protest" is another paper's "unrest." Readers who want the full picture have to open five tabs and notice the gaps themselves. Voice News BD does that work for you: one story page, every source, lean labels, and AI coverage analysis.
What the lean labels mean
For Bangladesh national and Bangla-language coverage, every article is scored individually on an axis that measures one thing: its stance toward the current government. Since the February 2026 election the BNP governs, the Awami League is banned, and Jamaat-e-Islami leads the opposition. The three labels — Left, Independent, Right — describe where a story sits on stance toward power. In today's Bangladesh, Left marks framing aligned with the elected government (the BNP won a two-thirds mandate after the revolution), and Right marks framing aligned with the opposition — Jamaat-e-Islami and pro–Awami League forces. Most coverage is Independent.
Framing aligned with the current government. Coverage that amplifies and promotes the government's own voice — a minister or ruling-party figure claiming credit for a policy, reassuring the public, rebutting rumours, or advancing the government's position.
The default, and where most news lives. Neutral, factual, or ceremonial reporting, administrative and personnel moves, the courts, crime, business, culture, sport, and all foreign news — anything that doesn't clearly take the government's side or the opposition's.
Framing aligned with the opposition — Jamaat-e-Islami and pro–Awami League forces. Coverage that centers the party-political opposition — Jamaat and other forces opposing the government — or holds the government to account: watchdog and accountability criticism of how it uses its power.
International coverage (BBC, Reuters, Al Jazeera, and others) uses the conventional global spectrum with static per-outlet labels rather than per-article AI scoring.
Lean labels are directional signals, not accusations. They describe a tendency in how a story is framed — not the outlet's intent, quality, or credibility. Read the full methodology.
Sources we cover
We currently aggregate 24 outlets across three sections: English-language Bangladesh, Bangla-language Bangladesh, and international news with Bangladesh coverage. Domestic outlets carry no fixed lean label — each article is scored on its own framing. Ownership is listed so you can judge the incentives yourself.

Editorial independence
Voice News BD is an independent project. It is not affiliated with any political party, media group, outlet, or government body. No outlet pays to be included, and no outlet can influence the lean labels assigned to their coverage.
Source selection is based on reach, editorial track record, and geographic coverage. We aim to include the widest spread of perspectives that meets a minimum factuality threshold — not to endorse any of them.
